Overview


Starting from the mission of the Prince Al Hussein Bin Abdullah II Academy for Civil Protection, that aims to deliver distinguished education in the field of civil protection with the latest scientific methods and meet the requirements of the development and the demands of the labour market, the department of scientific basic sciences has been established at the beginning of the second semester 2020/2021, that contributes in achieving the academy’s targets and embodying its goals.


The department supervises and follows up the university’s scientific requirements (the compulsory and the optional ones) that includes various courses that aim to gain the students with the required skills whether in the practical field or in the scientific one. These skills include learning the basic sciences that refine the student’s personality under the technology and the informational development and provide him with the required experiences to do his duties whether at the university or in the labour market.


The department supervises a group of labs that are equipped with the latest methods and equipment in different fields that enable the students to keep up with the rapid development of the technology and the information revolution and adapt with the changes in a very high level of efficiency.


The department makes sure to update the teaching plans and develop them, in a way that contributes in graduating qualified students that granted a good practical and scientific reputation both on the domestic and regional levels.


The Department Duties:


  • Monitoring the execution of the teaching plans for the courses that are affiliated to the department (the compulsory and the optional ones).
  • Elaborate the annual budget for the department and monitor its execution in terms of determining the need of the department of teaching staff, labs’ supervisors, books, references and teaching aids.
  • Develop and improve the foundation of the department in a way that meet the requirements of the local and the international labour market.
  • Monitor the teaching staff’s and the labs’ supervisors’ job shifts.
  • Monitor the students’ performance.
  • Study the needs of the teaching staff to raise their academic and vocational levels.
  • Hold scientific workshops that aim to provide the students with high experience in the working fiel
